How to Join / Become a Member

If your business  falls within our “common bond” listed above please contact us at:   325/224-3645 direct, 325/653-1465 or 800/749-1465 and ask for a commercial staff member.  To establish membership you need to complete a membership application, provide us with the required company forms and make a minimum $25.00 deposit to a Share (savings) Account and pay a one-time $5.00 non-refundable joining fee. This $25.00 balance must be maintained in the Share (savings) Account for you to take advantage of any of the other 1st Community FCU services.

Why do you have to have a Savings account if all I want is a Checking account or Loan?

The $25.00 minimum deposit to your Share (savings) account makes your business a member/owner of the Credit Union and therefore eligible to take advantage of other products and services the Credit Union offers such as loans or a checking account.  This minimum deposit is also known as the par value of a share in the Credit Union and it must be maintained as long as you are a member.  If you decide to close your account/membership after at least 90 days the $25.00 will be returned to you.

Can you be a member of more than one credit union?

Yes.
